Monday, 27th June 2011 @ 18:35Spiritual Warfare
When I observe the behaviour of many believers, I am often surprised that they act much like one would expect unbelievers to behave in the same circustances.
Being a Christian is just not being forgiven, but it is also about being changed. There is meant to be a difference between the way Christ followers live and those outside of the faith.
One area that really exposes this phenomen is the area of spiritual warfare. Some believers act like there is no devil, and others seem to have a permanent conflict with him like they are best enemies.
Ephesians 6 speaks about how to win at war. We are at war with the world, the flesh and the devil. But we are called to victory. God gives us the power and the means of winning the battle. He gives us full armour. He gives us full power. However, for many Christians, this is mere superstition and they fail to live in its critical reality. It is a life and death battle, and most walk around spiritually naked.
